What is involved with the ProTouch trigger job?

We change and shorten the configuration of the trigger assembly. Polish the sear and hammer to a mirror finish. The final touch is precisely matching the sear to the hammer for optimum snap and lightness. Also by doing these mods, it shortens the trigger travel by .050 of an inch. The gun is already as fast as it can be. We just make it easier for the operator to keep up with the potential of the system. The marker's safety mechanism remains fully operational.

How does the ProTouch modification affect the trigger?

The stock trigger is already short and crisp, and most seem to think it "good to go" in it's stock condition. However, the ProTouch gets the personal attention needed to get it as soft and as short as possible while maintaining reliable operation.

I have heard that the grip frame is a standard Autococker frame. Is it possible to use Autococker grips and frames with the Blazer?

Yes, we use WGP aluminum grip frame/trigger housing for the Blazer with contour grips. The grips can be changed easily (some will need to be relieved a bit on the inside of one grip for clearance) but the frame itself is a different story.

Do I need to use a motorized loader with the Blazer, Typhoon, etc.?

I don't use a motor loader myself but most do. The gun can be shot VERY fast without a motor, you might shoot allot of air-only shots when the loader is full. The gun is very smooth operating so you have to shake the loader from time to time to keep paint in the neck between the gun and the loader body. Those 5-6 shots are always positive, after you empty the neck, it's luck if the loader keeps up.

I often play in rather cold weather and will use CO2 with the Blazer. I'd like to know about the Blazer's cold weather performance. Can it handle liquid CO2?

The cold weather limitation on the gun is the expansion rate and pressure of the co2 not the gun. I played in temps down to about -15 C quite a few times last winter and was able to hold useable velocities on gas down to about -2 or -3 C.. Below that I would turn my anti-siphon tank over and run it on full liquid to keep the velocity up. On liquid the only difficulty is seeing the the gas cloud. :) Liquid won't hurt the Blazer at all. However, you may sometime get some temporary, small leaks from ice crystals getting caught in the seals of the automation switching. They go away when the ice melts or gets blown out of the way. The use of full liquid in above freezing condition will cause some eratic behavior in velocity and cycling but nothing harmful to the gun.

Does a Stabilizer help the gun's cold weather performance?

Not really an improvement on "performance", just better consistency throughout a broader range of temp conditions.

How fast is the Blazer trigger?

The Blazer is capable of cycling faster than is humanly possible to pull the trigger, any trigger. The actual rate of fire is entirely dependant on the rate of fire of your nervous system.

The blazer has been clocked over 20 balls per second. We feel it should cycle over 30 bps with the right conditions.

How fast is the Blazer with the ProTouch trigger job?

The pro touch set up doesn't make the gun faster but it does make it easier for some to opperate the trigger faster. I say "some" because some can shoot it equally as fast with either setup. On a personal note: I, for one, am not helped to be faster or more effective with the gun by the ProTouch setup or 2-finger trigger. (I kind of like it the way that I originally designed it ;-) Although, I have seen some that it makes a big difference to.

Why do you use brass barrels over aluminum or Stainless Steel?

I have tried all the other options and I've not found a way to do better than I can with brass. Brass is the perfect material for the least amount of friction with the gelatin of a paintball.

If I'm planning on using nitro on a Blazer, should I get HP/LP valving?

A. That all depends on the pressure that you want to run your gun at to actually fire the ball. If you are
of the "Low Pressure" school of thought and want to use pressures below about 550 psi; then the Hv/Lp
valving is required. Hv/Lp valving also requires pressures into the gun be kept below 550 psi for
proper operation. I run my own equipment with standard valving and about 550 psi into the gun.
Lower firing pressures tend to lower the effectiveness of the shot down range.

Q. should I get a stabilizer?

A. Two stage regulation will always improve on consistency of the pressures into the gun. the more
consistent the air supply , the more consistent the velocities will be; Especially with Hv/Lp valving.

Q. What does "match" to a specific gun do?

A. It matches the barrel to the specific gun that it is going onto, insures a perfect fit and and proper dimensioning for the valving and setup of the firing system. Then it is marked for proper positioning.
We just make sure that it is the best it can be.

Q. When my Blazer is de-gassed, I notice a parts rattle inside of the chassis. When the marker is charged, the rattling doesn't happen. Is this normal?

A. That sound is the hammer and main spring. With the gun de-gassed and un-cocked, the hammer should be able to move back and forth a bit (which causes the rattling sound). When the gun is gassed or cocked, the hammer is held back by the sear. The rattle also means your marker is set up correctly and not overdriving the valve.

Will the Freak barrel kit fit my Blazer?

The Freak Barrel system would be too thin after machining. Most if not all of the other barrels can be made to fit, just not the freak system.

Will a Stabilizer make my Blazer perform better/different?

There wouldn't be an actual "performance" difference at all. The Stabilizer just makes it easier to maintain consistent velocities over a broad range of conditions.
